AFC Medical Conference

The Conference is the medical showpiece for the Asian Football Confederation and is conducted every 4 years.

As an AFC Medical Officer, Dr Jones was invited by the AFC to attend the AFC Medical Conference held in March in Qatar.

Dr Jones chaired a keynote lecture by Dr Tim Meyer, CMO of the German Football Association and UEFA, presented the Best Poster Presentation Awards, was invited onto an AFC committee to construct a pilot research study in psychological health, and was an instructor for the AFC Emergency Medicine Course practical sessions, which focussed on the field of play management of Sudden Cardice Arrest and Spinal Injury.

The conference featured presentations by researchers from Football Australia's Research Department, which Dr Jones oversees as Head of Medical. He was also a co-author of these research papers.
